Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get scheduled for a checkride?
Complete the questionnaire and return the form with the required deposit. We can then
discuss establishing a firm date for your checkride. All dates are tentative until I have received
both the form and deposit.
Where are you located?
I currently live in Niceville, FL with FL17 being my home field.
What do I need to bring to the checkride?
You should become quite familiar with both the ACS and the Companion Guide. The
checklist in the Companion Guide is a great resource. Also consult with your CFI. Important –
You must have your planes original maintenance records to show airworthiness prior to starting
the evaluation.
Is there a cancellation fee if my checkride weather cancels?
Cancellation fees are listed on the Fee Sheet; however, there is no charge for day-of
cancels for weather (or other unforeseen aviation-related circumstances).
What are your fees for initial checks and retests?
See the Fee Sheet with the questionnaire. All initial checks and retests are listed there.
Note – cash is preferred on evaluation day.
Do you travel for checkrides?
I own a Piper Archer and can travel for checkrides. Note – a travel fee may be required.
Are there fees associated with your travel?
Yes, if the checkride is outside my local area (i.e., greater than 30 miles from FL17). All
fees are on the Fee Sheet.
When will I get planning guidance for my checkride?
I will build a unique scenario, including a cross country destination (if required for your
evaluation) for your checkride. I will provide that to you via email no later than 7 days prior to
your evaluation.
